The travel dressing guide

What you need to know:

Stylish traveller. You don’t realise how minimal your closet may be until you have to dress up for a trip, or even just choose what clothes to pack, writes Gloria Haguma

The idea is to be as comfortable as possible, right from the check-in points to your destination. Begin by establishing what means you are travelling by. That will enable you dress appropriately for your trip. You don’t want to dress up in a double denim look when you are going to be on the road all day in hot weather.

Going by road

This means sitting for long hours, enduring the discomfort of heat and the dust, sometimes. The trick here is opting for the lightest clothing you can get your hands on. Shorts, vests, and slippers would be perfect especially if you are travelling during the day.
Do remember to carry a jacket, or scarf, just in case it gets chilly especially at night

Travelling by air
Most people that travel by air prefer to be very stylish and as polished as possible. You however need to bear in mind that items such as lace-up shoes will be inconveniencing especially when it comes to check-in. Opt for loafers instead, as these are easy to slip on and off at required times.

A pair of chino pants are convenient especially if you are going to be seated for long hours. A tee and blazer can be ideal to complete the look.

A polo neck T-shirt and a sweater can also be a good outfit choice. They don’t come off as though you are trying too hard. Choose them carefully.
