He slept with his friend’s girlfriend

So, this is a warning to my brothers out there to look out for scheming girlfriends that are not theirs. Yeah, that girl that is your friend’s girlfriend, you need to watch out for her. Of course not all of them are evil, in fact, most of them are contented with what - and who - they have, but there is a growing number of men-grabbers that are constantly on the lookout for a better prospect, all in the name of upgrading.
And they are shameless enough to even consider their men’s own friends - even tight buddies - as potentials. Being inconsiderate to the effect it will have on the friendship itself. I mean, what else is there to expect other than total collapse of a great friendship. Just because of one selfish girl who did not know what is off limits.

Sam is a cool man. Too cool in fact that even his own friends say he is a really cool man. He exudes class and good upbringing, and is real stylish. One of his friends, no they are no longer that much of friends so let us say that one of the men that used to be close friends with Sam, was a fella called Derrick.

Sam and Derrick were longtime friends; it was not even imaginable that anything short of death could ever come between them.
And so after a particularly a long spell of singlehood, when Derrick finally got a girl, Sam was the very first person she met. And she immediately fell for Sam, because truth be told, Sam was a really cool man. Few girls would resist his charm.
But hey, life is not like that. It is not like going to a shopping mall where you can try on a dress and easily change your mind. And from that moment on, Derrick’s girlfriend had only one mission; to hook Sam.

She tried being subtle at first, and then gradually got bolder as she realised that Sam was not being responsive to her suspiciously high interest. Derrick did not notice this, did not even question the growing friendship between Sam and his girlfriend. He was happy; his girl and his best friend were also good friends. On Sam’s part, his expansive nature made him very welcoming to anyone. He had the ability to make people feel safe with him, and it was not built on sinister intentions.
But all the girl saw was her dream man, the kind she had always wanted. Just that she was with his friend instead, though that did not pose a permanent challenge as they were not exactly married. Even marriages could be ended.

She constantly looked for opportunities to further her cause with Sam. Then the perfect opportunity presented itself when out of the blue, Sam and his girlfriend broke up. That was all Derrick’s girlfriend needed, and she did not think twice. She certainly was not going to wait for Derrick and his girlfriend to resolve their differences and get back together again.

She swung into action, worked quickly, and by some tricks known to her alone, managed to interpose herself between Sam and Derrick. She spent a night at Sam’s place, the guilt was too much. Derrick could not forgive the betrayal; Sam could not forgive himself for the betrayal either.
The guilt ate him up until finally he could not face Derrick. And could not also stand Derrick’s girlfriend either, so that also did not work out. It took several years for the two of them to get over her, but like how these things go, it was never the same again. You now cannot blame Derrick for not sharing everything with Sam, especially things to do with his love life.
