Life never turns out the way we want, so is love

Love is part of the jigsaw puzzle of life. As we grow up, we plan on how we want our lives to be; when to get married and have children. Sometimes it might work out the way we plan but most times it does not. At the weekend, I had a conversation with a few girlfriends. One story led to another. We talked about careers, money and definitely boys. We laughed about the ex-boyfriends we thought each one of us would marry but like you guessed, they instead turned into the thorns that hurt our skins.
We teased one friend, Jessica, who we all thought would be the last one to get married but no, she actually settled before all of us even learnt to keep one man for a month.
She was so adventurous in her young age; she loved trying out as many things as she could, places, food and even men. She had sworn to us that she will settle when the clock ticks 30 but on her 27th birthday, she already had a ring, a baby and another pregnancy. And surprisingly, she was a happy woman.
On the other hand, some of us who thought we would settle immediately after university were swayed by the career winds and other stuff. We dated a few men but marriage never appeared on the table. So yes, as years went by, one by one got married and the rest of us were awakened by news of engagements. Eventually life took its course and things unfolded as they pleased.
One friend though is disappointed with how life has treated her. She has done everything right but luck has not been on her side. “I am tired of looking for love,” she said. Silence filled the table as we all studied her mood. She was serious; she was hurt that her efforts were not awarded. She was the only one who had not met her Mr Right and she was tired of waiting. Life never turns out the way we plan or even wish but that should not disappoint you. Just keep living one day at a time and before you know it, things will fall in place as God wishes. Do not be frustrated when all your friends are getting married. We trade on different routes. When it is your time, not even a witch will stop your happily ever after.
Truth is, you can never decide when to fall in love. And stressing over it will not change the timing, so enjoy every minute as you prepare for love, it might happen today, tomorrow or never.
