Brace for Season nine
Posted Saturday, March 2 2013 at 02:00
This ever engrossing medical drama returns for its ninth instalment. The show has endeared itself to millions of fans worldwide with its fictional but rather compelling story about the lives of surgeons and residents and is set in the fictional Seattle grace mercy west hospital.
For those not familiar with the origins of the show, it revolves around a one Meredith Grey who plays a surgical resident (equivalent of masters In medicine student in our setting) faced with the uphill battle of becoming a surgeon.
Her interactions with the people around her and the characters that surround her make the basis for this story tale.
This season kicks off with all the fifth year residents from the previous season now fully fledged attending surgeons who happen to be busy teaching interns and doing their own surgeries.
The season in the beginning is centred around the aftermath of the plane, with the characters having to deal with the death of Lexie Grey (Meredith’s sister) and Mark Sloan who was popularly known as mcsteamy.
On the other hand Callie and Arizona have to deal with the latter having one leg, and their daughter losing their father which leads to turbulent times for this couple.
Derek also has to come to terms with the possibility of never operating again due to the damage his hand suffered in the plane crash.
Cristina returns much to the delight of her fans like me while Meredith is pregnant again but is not putting her hopes up.
The show starts to drag mid-season but happens to gain momentum as the storyline continues to develop and events begin to unfold.
The love affairs, drama and high tech surgeries are still ever present with an interesting set of new characters to play interns. So if you have not watched it, guess it is time you got yourself this rather engrossing tale of love, loss and drama.
