Nick Vujicic, famously known as the "limbless evangelist," has received double blessings ahead of Christmas in the form of two little bundles of joy.
The renown Australian evangelist announced today morning that his wife, Kanae Miyahara Vujicic, has given birth to twin girls.
"Thank you all for your love and prayers! Babies Olivia and Ellie were born on Mommy's Birthday, 5 pounds 2 ounces (approximately 2kgs) and 5 pounds 14 ounces. Mommy is well and so are the girls. Thank You God!" Vujicic posted on social media.
As expected, the congratulatory comments came flowing in the moment he shared the great news.
"Congratulations to you and your family! What a nice birthday gift for mommy, & the whole family for that matter; Christmas gifts to all of you! Looking forward to seeing pictures of these precious baby girls! God is so good!!" wrote one commenter.
Another follower commented: "Congrats on your two precious additions...much health and happiness to you and your expanding family.”
The couple, who also have two sons, command a huge social media following mostly due to Vujicic’s inspiring life story.
The 35-year-old was born with Tetra-amelia syndrome - a rare disorder characterised by the absence of arms and legs in a newborn baby. He has however trounced his condition to become a world-renowned inspirational speaker and author. Today he is credited as the founder of the evangelistic ministry Life Without Limbs.
The couple has been deep in love ever since they first met in 2008. In an interview with christianpost.com, Kanae is quoted to have said that it was love at first sight for her and her prince charming.
"I fell in love with him the way he is," Kanae said. Before meeting Nick, she had dated other guys but she immediately knew that he was the one for her. "He was not only a boyfriend material, but he could be my husband."
She was impressed by his signature generosity in spirit and good humour. For her, Nick is so handsome, and "the perfect match." Nick on the other hand described their meeting as “electric”.
“When she stood by me, I just felt right," Nick said.
Although Nick has no hands, he proposed to Kanae and put an engagement ring on her finger in a very unique way. With the ring in his mouth, he asked to kiss her finger. She was surprised to feel Nick bite it, however on looking, he had put a ring on it.
"Baby, I love you, would you love to marry me and spend the rest of your life with me?" Nick asked. Kanae just cried.
The couple got married in 2012.
