The sight of Miss Uganda, Stellah Nantumbwe in Mwanyangiri, Mukono district, brought locals to a standstill as they welcomed the land’s fairest lady. Pupils, all smiles and clapping, lined up to receive her and went on to sing, dance and ululate. The beauty queen was the chief guest at Kanita Community Day, last Thursday. The day was about immunisation, HIV/Aids testing, counselling and awareness.
A guard of honour was mounted by pupil scouts to welcome her. Nantumbwe inspected the guard and went on to interact with different exhibitors of items like foodstuffs and solar panels at their stalls.
In her company were former crown beauties Phionah Bizzu, Miss Uganda 2012/13 and Sylvia Namutebi, Miss Uganda 2011/12 as well as Miss Central, Vanessa Wamalwa and Miss North Acayo Judith Moro. In her speech, she read in Luganda, Nantumbwe encouraged girls to study hard in order to compete favourably in the future.
