Nile partners with Sqoop for beach rugby

Come this Saturday, all roads will lead to Sports Beach in Entebbe for the Fan Zone Beach Rugby Corporate Tournament, courtesy of Nile Breweries and Daily Monitor’s Sqoop magazine. The annual tournament which is running for a fifth time this year will be packaged with lots of rugby action, live entertainment from DJ Apeman, as well as ,mouth watering food and drinks.

According to Aaron Aguma, Monitor Publications Limited’s Marketing Manager, the reason why Sqoop magazine, a product of the paper, is partnering in this particular tournament is to thank the readers for their continuous loyalty towards the magazine. “This is our Christmas gift to our loyal readers of Sqoop magazine,” Aguma says.

Tickets will be sold at the venue at Shs5,000. However, Sqoop is giving away 100 tickets to readers. All they have to do is to send an sms with the keyword Sqoop (leave a space), Beach Rugby to 6933 to stand a chance to win. Winners will be announced on the day before the tournament in this paper.

“Fifty lucky winners will each get two tickets,” Aguma says.

There will also be Shs1m and Shs 500,000 for the first and second best dressed individuals at the tournament. These will, however, not be crowned during the tournament. What will happen is that every one’s picture at the tournament will be taken and posted on to the Sqoop Facebook page where the voting will be conducted.

The person who attains the most Likes will automatically take the Shs1m while the runner up will take the Shs500,000. Winners will be announced on Friday, December 21 and photographs of these two lucky winners will be displayed in Sqoop magazine before the end of the year.
