Succeeding: Reasons you should join a network marketing company

“Hi. I just wanted to tell you about an exciting business opportunity,” someone said on the other end of the line. When someone tells you about a business opportunity, aka, ‘”biz opp”, nine out of 10 times, it’s going to be network marketing. Sometimes, it’s called direct sales. Typically, a network marketing company works this way: You pay a certain amount to join, use some of the products, introduce members to join your “team”, help them to succeed and you are rewarded a certain percentage of their earnings.

Companies that adopt this mode think this way; “Rather than spending millions of dollars on advertising and marketing, we will instead use that money to reward people who directly sell our products and introduce others to become distributors”. Besides the money, here are the benefits that should make you consider joining a network marketing company.

Selling skills: You will be “forced” to learn how to sell. This is one of the most important skills you will ever learn besides public speaking.

Expanded networks: You will meet new people; interesting people. In the process, you will expand your network. The quality and quantity of your network will determine your net worth. Usually, you will meet ambitious and positive people. It’s a good crowd to hang around. It’s not a drinking club. It’s a money-making club and that’s a good thing.

Team building: Because you are enrolling other distributors, you learn how to build a team and working in the same team. That’s a great skill to learn too.

Interpersonal skills: Related to the above is the skill called inter personal communication. You are dealing with different kinds of people. The hard working ones, the lazy ones, dreamers, realists, pessimists, optimists…in the end, you have to learn to deal with all of them.

Compounding time: If you successfully build a team, you compound the time of your efforts. Assuming you have 10 people in your team and each of them invests three hours per day. That makes it 30 hours per day which you would never do by yourself. And you get a certain percentage of their results. Sweet, isn’t it?

Game of life: It’s one industry where the principle of life comes to light. Usually, those people who say network marketing doesn’t work are the same individuals who are not working as hard or give up easily. You reap what you sow. To succeed, you have to help others succeed first. These are life skills and mindsets which you can utilise in other areas of life. Even if you earn zero shillings or dollars, if you are steadfast and open to learn, the skills are priceless. Next time someone calls, keep an open mind.
