Banshee’s simply addictive

Banshee movie

The following series comes with a caution - if you have something important to do over the next 24 hours or so, don’t watch it yet. If you go ahead and watch it, don’t say you were not warned.

This cinemax production is a really captivating piece that is sure to cause a buzz. The story revolves around the exploits of Lucas Hood played by Anthony Starr. This career criminal/ master thief is released from prison after a 15 - year stretch in prison for stealing a bunch of diamonds worth $10m from a Ukrainian kingpin called Rabbit (yeah, very scary name for a gangster! Don’t be fooled by the name, he is as bad as they come). The only thing that keeps him going despite the hardship he faces in that hell hole is his love for the crime lord’s daughter and fellow accomplice Anastasia.

Upon his release, he discovers that she has long moved on and is married with two children under a new name, Carrie Hopewell [clearly he didn’t get the memo on not trusting women]. As fate may have it the new sheriff is killed in his midst and he is quick to assume the vacant position by identity theft. With this newly acquired power, he proceeds to brandish his own form of justice while continuing to pursue his illegal interests.

In the course of his work, he comes up against the town crime boss Kai Proctor who seems to be behind every shady business in the sheriff’s jurisdiction. Behind a calm and eloquent persona is a ruthless man that will have some of you rooting for him because of how magnificently evil he is (he is almost in the T-Bag-from -Prison Break league). This show is guaranteed entertainment.
