Make merry out of town

Getaway. With the festivities upon us, this is the best time to take a holiday out of town. EDGAR R. BATTE explores some some great options.
Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge
Location: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Attractions: Fireplace and private sitting room in every lava-stone cottage with stunning views of the Virunga Volcanoes glowing red in the night sky. There are also the fascinating afro-alpine birding and forest walks.
Prices: $1350 (about 3.4m) per person sharing. The fee includes two nights in luxury accommodation, return flights Entebbe / Kisoro, return transfers, all meals, drinks and laundry.
Apoka Safari Lodge
Location: Kidepo Valley National Park
Attraction: Game viewing with a difference from your spacious cottage and outdoor stone bathtub. There are cinematic landscapes with big skies, abundant wildlife, good, fresh food, game drives, walking safaris, bush sundowners, Karamajong cultural activities, birding and hiking.
Prices: $1178 (about Shs3m) per person. This includes two nights in luxury accommodation, return flights Entebbe / Kidepo, airport taxes, all meals, drinks, two game activities per day and laundry.
Location: In the middle of Mabira Rain forest
Attractions: It is going to be a forest Christmas where you get to spend a night in the forest, at the Rainforest Lodge and be served breakfast in bed and later on lunch either at the restaurant or in your room. Generally, you can choose to relax this festive holiday.
