MTN MoMo and Salaam TV Join Hands to Support Pilgrims During Ramadan Dinner.

MTN MoMo, in collaboration with Salaam TV, hosted a special Ramadan dinner last night to announce their support for pilgrims through a partnership with the Haji-Umra Bureau. The event, held at the prestigious Serena Hotel in Kampala, brought together leaders from the Muslim community, representatives from MTN Uganda and Salaam TV, and other distinguished guests.

Through the MTN MoMo App or by dialing the specific code, anyone can contribute to donate toward supporting the less fortunate at the end of the fasting period.

The dinner served as a platform to unveil MTN Uganda's commitment to sponsoring Muslims for Umrah, a pilgrimage to Mecca, in partnership with the Haji-Umra Bureau. 

The Speaking at the event, Sarah Okwi Bateta the Chief Financial Officer of MTN MoMo, highlighted the significance of the partnership and MTN's dedication to driving digital and financial inclusion. In her statement, she remarked, "We are proud to collaborate with Salaam TV and the Haji-Umra Bureau to support our Muslim brothers and sisters in fulfilling their spiritual journey. This initiative aligns with our Ambition 2025 goal of ensuring that everyone deserves the benefits of a modern connected life."

Additionally, pilgrims can now conveniently pay their travel fees using MTN MoMo, making the process hassle-free and accessible to all.

Hajji Kin Ibrahim Kariisa, Chairman of Salaam TV, expressed gratitude for the partnership, emphasizing the importance of unity and solidarity within the Muslim community. He stated, "We are thankful to MTN Uganda for their generous support and commitment to making Umrah accessible to all. Together, we can empower pilgrims and ensure that no one is left behind."

The dinner also served as an opportunity for attendees to contribute to a charity account set up by MTN MoMo, aimed at supporting needy individuals at the end of the fasting period. Donations can be made through the MoMo App or by dialing *165*3#, further exemplifying the spirit of giving and compassion during Ramadan.

In addition to the sponsorship announcement, MTN Uganda reintroduced the special Ramadan bundle, offering customers 30 minutes and 100MBs daily when they load airtime or buy any bundle worth 500/= or more. This initiative aims to facilitate communication during the fasting period and is open to all MTN customers.
