While Christmas comes with a lot of excitement to many, it still leaves stress for others. It is a month and half to the end of year.

While it is important for you to make money, you should also pause and appreciate where you have come from! This will give you an insight of where you are going.

During this season, suppliers stock waiting to satisfy the needs of consumers. Christmas is great if you have planned. Instead of stressing yourself over the numerous expenses that come along, plan accordingly to remain financially fit and enjoy the holiday!

Simple things make life more fulfilling. Write down all your expected expenses from household, gifts and travel expenses and know what is required of you. If you have been saving for the season, evaluate whether what is saved will meet all you needs and wants.

Human excitement sometimes drives us away from our motives that might influence our spending behaviours. My cousin loves good life. He told me the reason he ‘spoils’ himself while in Uganda is because he sacrifices a lot making money while working abroad.

He purposely saves part of his income for fun whenever he comes back home. Strolling through January to the end of year is great but requires some discipline to achieve your goals.

Earn your money the right way despite the pressures of attaining Christmas goals. Money is good but it shouldn’t make you lose focus or values of life.

Recently thieves have been plucking off people’s number plates and leaving phone contacts directing you to deposit a certain amount of money in order to get it back. I wonder why some people cannot use their energy for developing legitimate businesses to make money rather than disorganise others.

Strive to be happy by being mindful of your actions and knowing your limits so that you can go through the season peaceful and refreshed. Start planning now!
