What became of Christmas cards?

A few years back ago, receiving Christmas cards began towards the end of the month of November.
For those who had to post them, it was even much earlier but I can emphatically say without a shadow of doubt that I have not yet started receiving Christmas wishes through cards. Are they waiting for me to send cards first in order to reciprocate?

A steady and sure decline of the zeal to send Christmas wishes through cards is slowly phasing out. Should we blame it on the advancemnet of technology that has replaced them with electronic messages? As I continue to go down memory lane, I recall the impossibility of walking into a home and not finding a card on display. We got and sent lots of cards that the Christmas tree was not even big enough to accommodate them. That is why we resorted to tying a string across the living and dining rooms in order to display the cards.

The card strings would be a great interplay between the ribbon and balloon strings. So what is the big deal about Christmas cards?
Christmas cards are a personal way of expressing benevolence towards one another during this festive season.

In many instances, the sender demonstrates that they took time to look for and select a a befitting card they thought you would appreciate.
With all the creativity around Christmas, wishes or greetings no longer have to be put down on paper per say, various avenues can be explored. For example:

Throw cushions
With the new decor trend of printing or embroidering words on throw cushions, you could enhance a friend’s Christmas décor by sending them a message through this interior decor accessory.

A set of napkins
Whether they are bought already packed or custom-made, a lovely Christmas message printed in the corner of each napkin from your family to theirs would be very much cherished and never forgotten.

A table runner
A beautiful décor piece made by a tailor in your neighbourhood would make for a perfect Christmas gift for a loved one. A choice of luxury fabric such as damask or velvet and gold trimmings to match the season would be a great idea.

Christmas cake
Another way to show love for friends and family this season is by giving them a Christmas cake. What can people possibly enjoy more than the gift of beautiful cake?
For an extra thoughtful touch, attach the recipe to your gift so they can recreate the magic whenever the festive mood strikes. As I write this article, it has dawned on me that one would still have to send a note with all the gifts. Merry Christmas to you!
