I’ve landed on an advert for a job I like on a reputable online job board but the advert has no organisation name. It just gives a physical and post address. Why would a company not indicate its name in a job advert, are they hiding something? Should I trust this add? Lilly

Dear Lilly,
What you are describing is a practice by many organisations who engage recruiting agencies to manage their staffing. The justification for outsourcing talent sourcing is to save the company time and money.

The organisation identifies and enters into talent outsourcing contract with talent sourcing experts, whose specialty is attracting talent to their databases.
These agencies manage the recruitment function and the preliminary interfaces with the interested applicants up to the end, when the client company is presented with a few candidates to make the final selection.

Their role includes collecting all the relevant data about the suitable candidates and then discus their work experiences, career aspirations, and why they will be the perfect match with the client’s resourcing needs. Getting it right the first time, to match the right talent with the position, saves organisations lots of time and money.

By taking advantage of the sourcing firms’ capabilities to effectively evaluate candidates’ experience, knowledge and skills, justifies outsourcing this function. The agency looks for the person that best fit the client’s recruiting criteria, thus serving both the company and the candidates’ interests.

The other advantage of turning over the process to staffing experts is that most reputable agencies offer a satisfaction guarantee, whereby, if their client was unhappy with the selected candidate, the firm will offer a replacement at no additional cost.

Therefore, you should throw caution to the wind and respond to the ad with your well written resume and then, pray for the best.
