KAMPALA. If KCCA needed a boost ahead of their Caf Confederation Cup return leg against Congo’s AS Otoho tomorrow, they got it from the highest of quarters.
There were hushed tones regarding the way forward for the club following the departure of former Authority Executive Director Jenniffer Musisi, who prioritised the football team during her tenure.
But all that was allayed when her acting successor Andrew Kitaka visited StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo mid-week for the very first time since taking office.
Together with Juliet Namuddu, the Director Education and Social Services at KCCA, club Board members led by chairman Aggrey Ashaba, Kitaka had lunch and a meet and greet session with staff and players where he assured of continued support.

“As KCCA (the Authority), we assure you of our full support and we will keep aiding the club to enable it hit greater heights,” said Kitaka.
“Our focus as the authority is to improve player welfare, improve current state of the stadium and ensure the club can host football games at night.”
Kitaka also used the opportunity to remind everyone that he is not oblivious of the club happenings, going ahead to back the team to overturn the 3-0 result against Otoho tomorrow.
“You can turn the tie around” he said. “Come Sunday, believe in yourselves and have faith that you can overturn this result.”
KCCA need an outright 4-0 victory to progress to the group stage, while 3-0 would send the tie to spot kicks.
It is a tall order by all accounts but stranger things have happened in the game of football.
