Premier League Most Improved Eleven

1- Dean Henderson
(Sheffield United): England’s U-21 custodian has made such an effortless transition from the Championship, parent club Manchester United wouldn’t mind letting go of long-term number one David de Gea in favour of Henderson. He is such a commanding presence in the Blades’ unlikely bid for Europe.

2- Ricardo Perreira
(Leicester City): Portugal full back Perreira is the crown jewel in a league of outstanding number twos. Step aside Trent Alexander Arnold, Aaron Wan Bissaka and Reece James. Perreira is the most improved as he has been operating on a very steep plateau.

3- Bukayo Saka

(Arsenal): Gunners fans would be forgiven for forgetting about crocked pair Kieran Tierney and Saed Kolasinac. Saka is keeping both in his shade with powerful contributions at either side
of the porch. Blessed with a devious cross, 18-year-old Saka is already into double figures for goals involvement.

4- Caglar Soyuncu
(Leicester City): Turkish international Soyuncu has stepped into the big shoes of departed Harry Maguire with distinction. Don’t let Leicester City’s post-December wobble fool you. Soyuncu has surpassed all expectations as the Foxes have built the division’s second best defense.

5- Tyrone Mings
(Aston Villa): Remember the physical altercation Mings had with Zlatan Ibrahimovic as a Bournemouth player? Then, I honestly thought Mings was going nowhere with his career. Should have known better. Any 20-year-old with the cojones to take on Zlatan must be a character.

6- Fred

(Manchester United): This exceptionally ambidextrous Brazilian has gone from being the side’s bogey - the man everyone loves to blame for sub-par displays to the first player on Ole Gunnar Solsksjaer’s team sheet. In the entire division, no midfielder is delivering better in his position.

7- Adama Traore

(Wolves): Before this season, there was nothing in Traore’s game to suggest he is a La Masia academy graduate. All that has changed this season as he’s tormented every left back he has faced bar none. A big money move awaits this Spaniard born to Malian parents.

8- Jack Grealish
(Aston Villa): Long before England’s media got obsessed with Chelsea’s teen sensation Billy Gilmour, Grealish had been putting in one good shift after another. The Villa playmaker deserves plaudits for almost single handedly hauling Aston Villa to the Carabao Cup final.

9- Dominic Calvert Lewin

(Everton):We already knew about this boy from his displays as England won the U-17 World Cup. But this is the first season in which the speedy, non-stop number nine is playing in his full element. Wouldn’t be surprised if Gareth Southgate includes him in his Euro 2020 squad.

10- Tammy Abraham
(Chelsea): This is Abraham’s first ever Premier League campaign but boy, hasn’t he distinguished himself. Though injury has limited his contributions since January, Abraham remains in the running for the top scorer’s gong and is a shoe-in for the Three Lions at the Euro 2020 finals.

11- Marcus Rashford
(Manchester United): Before Red Devils faithfuls were smitten by Bruno Fernandes, it was Rashford’s goals keeping United in the running for Europe. Rashford has definitely benefitted from Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku’s departure to Inter Milan.
