What you need to know:

  • RALLYING. It is a shoot-out between Yassin Nasser, the current championship leader and Arthur Blick Jr the 2015 national champion.

The nerves and reliability of the car will be a key factor in the race for National Rally Championship (NRC) title decider the Mosac Rally in Kapeeka, Luweero District this weekend. It is a shoot-out between Yassin Nasser, the current championship leader and Arthur Blick Jr the 2015 national champion.

The momentum and experience is with Blick Jr and George Ssemakula in Shell Helix sponsored Mitsubishi Evo X after their back-to-back wins in the previous events while Nasser and Ali Katumba in Moil sponsored Subaru GVB have been more consistent this season scoring in each and every round, a mark of a champion.

The destiny of the title is too close to call with the two separated by only 30 points with 100 to fight for. The equation for Blick Jr is simple to win the event outright. Nasser a second place finish is enough for his maiden title. Any other position for the two will not be good enough unless one drops out.

Former champions have their say: Ronald Ssebuguzi (2006, 2009, and 2016) is putting his money on Blick Jr as a Team Shell driver but points to the unreliability of his Evo X compared to Nasser whose Subaru GVB has finished all the events this season so far.

Ponsiano Lwakataka (2005 and 2007) thinks Blick Jr has done it before, knows what it takes to win. He is the on- form driver having won the
past two events.

Susan Muwonge (2011- 2018) is going for Nasser for his consistency throughout the season. Muwonge also won her two titles by scoring in each and every round.

Nasser Mutebi (2010) thinks the 30 points lead Nasser has going into the event gives him advantage. In the event both drop out, Nasser will
crowned champion.

Dr Ashraf Muhammed (2008) gives his vote to Nasser for being competitive.
