Kampala- There is some frustration not spoken about for a new signing who can’t compete for his new club in premier competition.

For Ugandan forwards Patrick Kaddu and Abdul Lumala, the wait could be over this weekend should their respective North African clubs RS Berkane and Pyramids throw the final dice best in quest for the Caf Confederation Cup group stages.

Both had their paper work delayed and haven’t featured on the continent. They can only play if their clubs make it to the lucrative pool stages.

“I played for KCCA in the Champions League (against African Stars) so I am cup-tied,” Kaddu told this paper from Berkane, Morocco.
Winger Lumala’s story is a little different. “I joined Pyramids a little late and we are four players waiting to be added if the team makes the groups,” he said from Egypt.

Now Kaddu, who was an unused substitute in the 1-0 away Botola league win over Husa on October 6, will only watch and hope Berkane can over the two-goal deficit when they host Madagascar’s Fosa Juniors tomorrow.

For Lumala, he hopes Pyramids can hold onto their 2-1 aggregate lead when Tanzania’s Yanga, who have Ugandan Juma Balinya in their ranks, visit them.

“It is possible to overturn the result,” said Balinya, last season’s top-scorer in the Uganda Premier League with Police. “We need to win 2-0,” he added.

Another Ugandan William Wadri struck as Kenyan side Bandari lost 4-2 to Guinea’s Horoya and they hope the fight continues at home at the Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi.

Fred Nkata is also part of the Bandari unit while Horoya travelled with Cranes’ custodian Robert Odongkara.
Kenya’s Gor Mahia, who have Shafik Batambuze, visit DR Congo’s Motema Pembe with the tie levelled at 1-1..
