Two senior four students, cyclist killed in Hoima motor accident

Three people died on Tuesday evening following a car accident along the Hoima-Kaiso- Tonya road.
The dead include two students of Universe College and a cyclist.
According to Police, the accident involved a motor vehicle registration number UBF 040W Toyota Hillux double cabin and a motorcycle registration number UDP 413Q.

Police said the motorcycle was being ridden by one Alfred Avutia, a resident of Bulemwa cell in Hoima municipality.
The cyclist reportedly died on spot.

"They were all heading in the same direction. The car hit the cyclist who lost control then knocked three pedestrians killing two on spot," said Mr Julius Hakiza, the Albertine regional police spokesperson.

The deceased pedestrians have been identified as Daphine Kabahumuza, 16 and Bridget Tushabe, 17.
Mr Hakiza said Comfort Murungi, 17, survived with serious injuries and is currently in a critical condition.
The pedestrians were all senior four students of Universe College School and residents of Bulemwa cell in Hoima Municipality.
At the time of the accident, the students were coming from school going back to their respective homes.
