ARUA- A Grade One Magistrate in Arua Friday briefly adjourned the hearing of the unlawful escape from custody case against Mityana Municipality Member of Parliament, Mr Francis Zaake.

The case was adjourned after Mr Jimmy Madira,  a lawyer representing Mr Zaake’s  told court that they had not been served with disclosure documents by State prosecutors  yet they needed them to effectively defend their client.

This prompted Arua Grade One Magistrate, Mr Swaleh Asiku to adjourn the case for 30 minutes.

Ms Harriet Adubango, the state prosecutor said they were ready to serve Mr Zaake’s lawyers once the documents are ready.

Mr Zaake was on February 22 charged with unlawful escape from Arua police cells.

He was granted bail by Arua Chief Magistrate, Mr Daniel Lubowa.

He was, however, re-arrested and taken to Gulu where he was charged with treason.
