Another woman kidnapped, killed

KAMPALA.

Police in Kawempe are investigating the circumstances under which an unidentified woman was allegedly kidnapped on Thursday evening and eventually killed by unknown assailants.

Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, said the body of yet to be known woman was found dumped in Kilokole Zone, in Kawempe Division, Kampala City in the wee hours of Friday morning.

“She was found dumped dead at around 3am along the road. The scene was visited by our officers and body was taken to Mulago for postmortem.  We are investigating the circumstances under which this happened,” Mr Owoyesigyire said.

Mr Owoyesigyire said police was working around the clock to identify the deceased and relatives to find out how she left home, who she was with prior to her death and what could have caused her death.

Previous gruesome killings

Susan Magara was kidnapped on February7 and spent 20 days in hands of criminal before her body was found dumped on February 27 at Kigo along Entebbe Expressway.

On March 31 two brothers were arrested for allegedly kidnapping a four-year-old girl, Resty Kahunde, a daughter to Ms Beatrice Kahunde and Mr Samuel Mugenyi.

On April 14, police arrested five people for allegedly kidnapping a two-year-old child in Kitezi, Wakiso District. The suspects were found hiding the child in one of their homes with intent of getting ransom from parents.
