Age limit: Police block Bobi Wine procession

ENTEBBE: Police on Friday briefly detained Kyadondo East MP Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine over age limit remarks.
Mr Kyagulanyi Wine was returning from a week long New York trip on Friday afternoon when his entourage comprised of vehicles and civilians was intercepted by Entebbe police.

Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, Emilian Kayima, confirmed that police had blocked Bobi Wine because his procession was going to antagonize traffic flow on the highway.

"On top of the procession and public gathering, the police have also questioned the Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine on the audio that is attributed to him that has been doing rounds on social media platforms," added Mr Kayima.

Mr Kayima further noted that: “Our commander engaged him because his procession was going to paralyze traffic flow at the highway. The commander sat with him and he was very okay with it. We have not arrested him,” Mr Kayima said.

However, it’s not clear whether Mr Kyagulanyi recorded a statement at police.
However, before he was taken in for questioning, there was a standoff between Bobi Wine supporters and police.
