Court has ordered the Minister of State for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Ms Persis Namuganza, to stop interfering in a land wrangle in Wakiso District.
The assistant registrar of the High Court Land Division, Ms Justine Atukwasa, issued the order against the minister and four others to stop trespassing on the land which is already under dispute before court.

“An interim order be issued against the respondents restraining them, their servants, agents, employees or any person claiming under any of them from entering upon the suit land at Mpumude Cell, Nakawuka Ward in Kajjansi Trading Centre, Wakiso District till hearing of the application, interparty on December 3, 2019,” Ms Atukwasa ruled yesterday.

In the main case filed before the High Court Land Division, Ms Joyce Naddamba Galabuzi sued the minister in her individual capacity for stopping her from using her land which she claims she is the owner.
The minister was sued along with Ms Galabuzi’s daughter-in-law Betty Nakaggwa, Mr Hassan Sengendo alias Balamu, Namugera Kasekende and Mr Jonathan Sebaddawo over trespass on Ms Galabuzi’s land that she used for agricultural activities for both subsistence and commercial farming.

Ms Galabuzi narrates that since on or about May 3, 1978 she has been and still the registered owner of land formerly comprised in Nakawuka measuring about 25 acres before she sub-divided after many people approaching her for lease partnership.
