Five-year-old girl kidnapped, killed

Police in Kampala have launched investigations into the kidnap and subsequent murder of a five-year-old girl.

Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, Mr Patrick Onyango, said Betty Nalwanga, disappeared from her aunt's home, Florence Nantale, on December 16 at around 10 pm.

“According to preliminary information we have gathered, the five-year-old was playing with other children at around their home while Nantale was in the house. At around 11pm, Nantale realised the girl was missing. She opened a case at Kagoma police and police have been investigating the case,” he said.

Police said on Thursday morning, the girl's body was found lying in a bush and a hunt for the possible killers has started.
