The former headteacher of Buddo Junior School has been arraigned before the Anti-Corruption Court in Kololo, Kampala and charged with corruption.
William Kayongo Sebuliba who is the current principal education officer Makindye Ssabagabo municipal council in Wakiso District on Tuesday appeared before Grade One Magistrate, Albert Asiimwe and denied the charges.

Prosecution from IGG states that on September 19, 2019 while at Inspectorate of Government Kampala regional offices at Kiwatule in Kampala District, Kayongo corruptly offered a gratification of Shs1 million to Kharim Ainomugisha, an inspectorate officer as an inducement to absolve him (Kayongo) in a case of alleged diversion and mismanagement of funds by the officials of Makindye Ssabagabo Municipal council which was being investigated by the Inspector of Government.

This was after the Inspector General of Government received information that former Makindye Ssabagabo town clerk, Kayongo and other officials of the council embezzled Shs300 million being funds that Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) compensated Kigo Prison's Primary School during the construction of Entebbe expressway.

However, Kayongo was on Tuesday released on a cash bail of Shs3 million and ordered to deposit his passport with court. Each of his three sureties who include his wife Beatrice Kayongo, were bonded Shs10 million not cash.
He was ordered to return to court on November 15, 2019 when he will be updated on the status of investigations.
