KABALE- Former Air Force flight director Maj Ivan Keimusya Bagorogoza, 58, was on Friday laid to rest at his ancestral home in Kirwa cell Kijuguta in Northern Division, Kabale Town.
Retired bishops of Kigezi diocese George Bagamuhunda and William Rukirande led the church service at the deceased’s home.
Maj Bagorogoza died at Nakasero Hospital in Kampala on May 3 after a short illness. He is survived by six children.
The Air Force Commander, Gen Samuel Turyagyenda, commended the deceased for discipline and commitment during his military service which began in 1977.
“Air Force has lost Maj Keimusya Bagorogoza at the time it needed him most. He has died a few days after his recommendation to go for Senior Staff College training at Kyankwanzi had been approved. We have lost a technical and practical officer,” Gen Turyagyenda said at the burial.
The Air Force commander presented a contribution of Shs1 million from the UPDF and Shs1 million from the Air Force.
The Local Council chairman, Mr Happiness Kyokwijuka, said the deceased had been an inspiration to many parents and students .
Bishops Bagamuhunda and Rukirande appealed to the mourners to follow the teachings of the Bible to ensure an afterlife in heaven.
