Gunmen kill Uganda Medical Association treasurer

Dr Ibra Gwaluka, the treasurer of Uganda Medical Association (UMA), Busoga Branch, has been shot dead.
According to Dr Ekwaro Obuku, the president of UMA, Dr Gwaluka was shot down on Friday night as he arrived home with his wife, a magistrate.
Dr Obuku said in a message he circulated on social media platforms that Dr Gwaluka’s wife escaped unhurt.
Dr Gwaluka has been the In-charge of Kigandaalo Health Centre IV in Mayuge District.
“The killers or their motives are not yet known. We shall keep you all posted with the proceedings,” Dr Obuku wrote.
The body has been taken to Iganga Hospital for a post-mortem.
UMA works to promote and maintain the honour and interests, standards and members of the medical profession and the society in Uganda.
