IGP Ochola shuffles over 100 senior police officers

KAMPALA. The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr Martins Okoth-Ochola, has shuffled more than 100 senior police officers across the country.

In a police message dated May 4, 2019, IGP Ochola appointed Senior Commissioner of Police Farouk Muyirima the deputy director for production in the Welfare and Production Directorate.

Mr Muyirima was most known when he was deputy commander for Kampala Metropolitan Police.
He replaces Senior Commissioner of Police Charles Birungi who has been moved to Interpol as the deputy director.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Bob Kagazura has been transferred from Rwenzori West, where he was the regional commander, to Wamala Region in the same role.

Senior Superintendent of Police Ignatius Otongo has been moved from Sipi Region to Rwenzori West as the regional officer.
Senior Superintendent of Police Ramathan Doka was transferred from Directorate of Criminal Investigations to Rwizi as the regional Criminal Investigations Department officer.

Senior Superintendent of Police Barbara Alungat has been appointed deputy commandant of Police College in Bwebajja.
IGP Ochola also moved police publicists.
Superintendent of Police Lameck Kigozi was removed from Greater Masaka region to police headquarters for redeployment.
Mr Kigozi has been replaced by Assistant Superintendent of Police Paul Kangave, who has been police publicist in Savannah region.

Superintendent of Police Vincent Ssekatte, who has been the spokesman for Criminal Investigations Department and Crime Intelligence and Professional Standards Unit, has been reverted to general duties.
Superintendent of Police Martin Mbabazi has been shuffled from Bukedi region to Sipi region as the regional commander.
Superintendent of Police Ahmed Musakana was moved from Kole to Bushenyi as the district police commander.
Superintendent of Police Ayub Waiswa has been deployed at Criminal Investigations Department headquarters.
Superintendent of Police Hashim Kasinga, formerly in Butambala District, has been appointed the Koboko District Police Commander.

He will be replaced by Superintendent of Police Julius Ahimbisibwe, who has been in Koboko District.
