KASESE: Police in Kasese are holding a man suspected to have participated in the murder of senior state prosecutor Joan Kagezi in March.
Kagezi was on March 30, shot dead in Kiwatule while buying fruits from a vendor in what police said was a planned assassination.

The police spokesperson Mr Fred Enanga confirmed the arrest saying that police has been carrying out the routine operations in order to see that justice is served.
“It is true we have this morning (Wednesday) arrested one of the suspects in Kasese town and we shall tell the entire nation of what will come out after interrogations,” Mr Enanga said in a telephone interview.
Mr Enanga revealed that the arrest of the suspect whose identity is yet to be revealed was just like any other normal arrests.

“We cannot conclusively link him to the murder because we are yet to interrogate him. Besides, we have arrested many and some have been released,” Enanga said.
Mr Enanga further said the suspect’s arrest followed intelligence reports.
According to police the suspect was netted in the morning of Wednesday at Kiteso- Kamaiba stage as he tried to take off with his boda boda bike he has been riding ever since he returned from Kampala.
