Kagadi murder: Three more suspects held, killer gun yet to be recovered

KAGADI: Police in Kagadi District have arrested three more suspects who are alleged to be part of the gang that participated in the brutal killing of a prominent businessman last week.
This brings the number of suspects in police custody to four.

Abdallah Ntambara, 51, was shot three times in chest and died at his shop last Thursday night.
Eye witnesses said he was shot by an unidentified gunman riding on a Bajaj motorcycle. The assailant was reportedly wearing a hooded jacket with military fatigue.

The Albertine region police spokesperson, Mr Julius Hakiza told Daily Monitor on Tuesday afternoon that three more suspects, all businessmen in the same area have been arrested in a police operation as investigations continue.

He said: “the first suspect, a woman, was arrested earlier on suspicion that she connived with others to take the businessman’s life.’’

The deceased was the chairperson of traditional healers in greater Kibaale

According to Hakiza, all the suspects are detained at Kagadi Central Police Station.
He said the search for more suspects and murder weapon is still ongoing.
