Kampala teacher on the run after cutting off wife’s lips

Police in Kampala are hunting for a teacher over allegations that he tried to kill his wife by hacking her.
Patrick Mutiri Juma, a teacher at Kasubi S.S allegedly attempted to kill his wife, Aidah Nabuufu, a 34-year-old worker at Pride Micro Finance LTD Matter branch by cutting off her lips and on the head several times with panga.
Kampala metropolitan police spokeseperson, Mr Luke Owoyesigyire said the incident happened in the wee hours of Wednesday morning at their home at Bugembegembe village, Kasengejje parish, Wakiso town council in Wakiso District.

Police are yet to establish what motivated the teacher to attack his wife.

“After the incident, the suspect disappeared from their home to unknown place. The victim was rushed by neighbours to Case medical center Kampala for treatment. The neighbours and Police of the area were informed by one of the maids after hearing the victim making un usual alarm seeking for help,” Mr Owoyesigyire.

A blood stained panga, piece of timber, hoe and its broken handle, bed sheets soaked with blood were recovered at the scene and taken to police to help in investigations.
“The suspect is still at large but attempted murder vide SD Ref.03/7/11/2019 was opened at Kasengejje Police post,” the police spokesperson added.
The couple has been staying with a maid and their two children.
