Missing social worker, boda boda rider found dead in Mukono

Bodies of two missing persons, suspected those of Maria Nagirinya and Ronald Kitayimbwa have been found in Nakituruli, six kilometres from Mukono Town on Kayunga road, in Mukono District.

They were found covered with dry grass in a water channel. The body of the woman had cuts on the head.
Nagirinya, 28, went missing on Wednesday night when unknown gunmen forcibly took her as she approached the gate of her home in Busega, a Kampala city suburb.

Nagirinya was the project manager at Community Integrated Development Initiative (CIDI), a Kampala-based non-governmental organisation.
Nagirinya’s car, a Toyota Spacio, Reg. No. UBA 570V was found abandoned at Kitooro Zone in Nateete, Rubaga Division on Friday morning.

Ronald Kitayimbwa,35, a boda boda rider from Nalumunye in Wakiso District, was also reported missing on Friday by his relatives.
It is alleged that he and Nagirinya were abducted on the same day.

Mr Kitayimbwa, 35

No one claimed responsibility or made demands of ransom to their families.

Police confirmed that bodies found were for Maria Nagirinya and Ronald Kitayimbwa.

“Kitayimbwa was identified by his brother Robert Lubega and Nakirinya was identified by her Uncle Kintu Mohammed,” Mr Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, said.
