Luweero, Sebei dioceses get new bishops

Christians in Luweero Anglican Diocese have welcomed the appointment of Canon Eridard Kironde Nsubuga as the new bishop. At the same time, their Church of Uganda counterparts in Sebei Diocese in Kapchorwa District also welcomed the election of Rev Paul Kipto Masaba as their new bishop.
Canon Nsubuga succeeds Bishop Evans Mukasa Kisekka who retired at 65 years. He was elected during the House of Bishops session in Lweza, Wakiso District on Thursday.
He has been the Archdeacon of Ndejje Church of Uganda. In Sebei Diocese Rev Masaba who was elected on Thursday takes over from Bishop Augustine Salimo, who retires at 65 years.
He has been the Archdeacon of St. Peter’s Cathedral Kokwomurya.
In his maiden speech, Bishop-elect Masaba pledged to unite the church, empower the church economically, guide youth and the elderly as well as vulnerable groups.

Can Eridard Kironde Nsubuga
Age. 57
Education. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Theology from the University of Gloucester Shine.

Rev Paul Kipto Masaba
Age. 47
Education. He obtained a diploma in Theology from UCU between 1999 and 2002.
