Truck collides with ambulance on Queens Way

An ambulance that was donated to residents of Butambala District by Ms Lydia Mirembe, the Butambala District Woman MP, Monday night collided with a trailer on Queens Way, in Kampala.
The ambulance which was reportedly transporting a patient to hospital tried to dodge the heavy traffic jam on Muteesa 1 Road in Katwe, by using Queens Way which is a one-way road for motorists heading to Entebbe Road from Kampala City centre.
Unconfirmed reports say, two caretakers who were travelling in the ambulance died instantly while the patient who was being rushed to hospital, and the driver of the ambulance were injured.
The truck driver reportedly escaped after the accident.
