Residents of Busuyi Village, Wairasa Sub County in Mayuge District were left in shock after a six-year-old boy who went missing a week ago was found dead with both arms chopped off, tongue and heart removed.

The body of Edirisa Kabulure was on Sunday found lying in a sugarcane plantation with part of the skin and hair also removed in what police suspect to be an act of ritual sacrifice.

Ms Jackylyn Namuyangu, the deceased’s mother, said that she left the boy with two other kids at home and went to wash clothes at the water well but did not find the boy when she returned home hours later.

The Busoga East regional police spokesman, Mr James Mubi, confirmed the incident, saying that the child was kidnapped before being murdered.

"The boy could have been killed in ritual sacrifice by his stepfather, who is currently on the run. Both of the deceased’s arms were cut off, plus the tongue and heart. The perpetrators also cut off the boy’s hair,” Mr Mubi said.
