Monitor Publications Limited (MPL) has officially acquired 90.4 Dembe FM, a radio station that majorly broadcasts in Luganda, from Simba Group of Companies owned by businessman Patrick Bitature.
The acquisition of Dembe FM is part of the overall strategy of Monitor Publications Limited to increase its radio market share.
Mr Patrick Bitature says the sale of Dembe FM to Nation Media Group (NMG) was to him normal because he needed to concentrate on his other businesses.

“We are excited because it will allow us offer Ugandans media engagements with innovative solutions,” he said.
The station targets both Luganda and English speaking radio listeners. Its current reach is central region.
The station mainly targets young and adult audiences with female skew.
