The High Court sitting at Entebbe in Wakiso District, has ruled that Godfrey Wamala , alias Troy, the man behind the alleged murder of late singer Moses Nakitinje Ssekibogo aka Mowzey Radio, has a case to answer.
Justice Jane Frances Abodo on Friday said Troy has to defend himself on the evidence of nine prosecution witnesses who testified that the accused threw the fallen singer on the floor during a brawl at De bar in Entebbe on January, 22, 2018.
This was after prosecution led by Mr Joseph Kyomuhendo presented its last witness, SP Frantile Rwamusayi, the officer who arrested Troy in February 2018.

Witness account
Mr Rwamusayi told court that in February 2018, a certain woman, whose face or name he does not recall went to his office and gave him information about the suspect who was on their wanted list.
He added that upon receiving this information, he picked two patrol vehicles and with the help of the anonymous woman, headed to a place called Kyengera, where the suspect was reportedly hiding.
“When we stopped, she pointed at the suspect who was standing beside a shop at around midnight, we moved closer and arrested him (Troy),” he said.
Troy was reportedly later handed over to Entebbe police, which was investigating the case. It is against this background that Justice Abodo said the accused needs to defend himself.

Lawyer says...
Troy’s lawyer, Mr Leonard Kasibante, told court that his client is expected to testify on oath and has witnesses to call.
Justice Abodo adjourned the matter to October 5, when Troy will submit his defence and present his witnesses.

Background

Prosecution alleges that on January 22, 2018, Wamala was seen with Radio at De bar drinking, before a scuffle between the singer and other people ensued. Radio allegedly poured booze on some people before a one Pamela Musimire and another person only identified as Ategeka, intervened by taking Radio out of the bar. Outside the bar, Wamala allegedly grabbed the singer and beat him up. After the beating, Wamala allegedly took off and hid in Kyengera until February 4, 2018, when he was arrested following Mowzey Radio’s death.
