Be patient, all will come to you, Museveni tells Sheema

Sheema. President Museveni has told residents of Sheema District to be patient and stop worrying over what he called ‘small things’ because he is still in charge.
The President was on Wednesday speaking as the chief guest during the victory party of newly elected Sheema North Member of Parliament, Ms Naome Kibaaju, at Mutanoga Playground, Kigarama Sub-county, Sheema District.
Ms Kibaaju was elected in October after Sheema North County seat fell vacant following the election of its former MP, Dr Elioda Tumweisgye, as Sheema Municipality Member of Parliament.
“We shall tarmack the roads. You should also repent the sin of little faith. You are like disciples who became impatient with Jesus when they were crossing the lake. We have constructed Ishaka-Kagamba and many other roads, we shall not fail to work on this one. Be patient with me,” Mr Museveni said.
Mr Museveni’s remarks came after requests from ministers and area Members of Parliament that he should pave the Bwizibwera-Kabwohe-Kitagata road, which connects Mbarara, Buhweju, Sheema, and Rukungiri districts.
“In 1956, there were only six schools with Primary Seven in the whole of Ankole Sub-region but now, all sub-counties in Sheema have secondary schools. Let’s be patient, all things will come,” he said.
The President hailed the people of Sheema North for supporting the National Resistance Movement party in the recent elections.
“Always vote for people who reach at the centre, where there is sharing of the cake,” he said.

Appeal
The minister of Tourism, who is also the Member of Parliament for Sheema South, Prof Ephraim Kamuntu, asked the President to support Ankole Western University so that it can help Ugandans attain higher education.
“You have supported our university before but it still needs your support. It administration block is currently incomplete,” he said.
Ms Kibaaju thanked Mr Museveni for accepting her invitation to attend her victory party and supporting her to win the October election.
Bishop of West Ankole Diocese Johnson Twinomujuni reminded the residents to empower their children through education so that they can have a better future.
“I want to remind you to do what you can, eat, drink, but make sure that your children go to school. I must put emphasis on education because it is through education that our nation will develop,” he said.
