NMG, Mubs partner to support PWDs

Kampala. Makerere Business School (Mubs) and Nation Media Group (NMG) have partnered to support education of people living with disabilities (PWDs).
This was revealed at the launch of the second annual Mubs Alumni Run scheduled for February 17, aimed at sponsoring education of PWDs at the university.

The two institutions will work with other stakeholders to ensure that university education becomes a fulfilled dream for students with disabilities.
Mr David Jonathan Ssentamu, the NMG-Uganda’s brand executive, recognised Mubs for supporting “the vulnerable people”.

NMG will offer promotion services worth Shs30m towards the cause. “We are happy that institutions like this are there to help in supporting the education of the disabled, mostly those who are unable to meet the financial needs at university and other institutions of high learning.,” Mr Ssentamu said.
The Mubs principal, Prof Wasswa Balunywa, said as an institution they will do their best to support the disabled community.

Prof Balunywa also requested other organisations in the country to join NMG and Mubs in promoting education of the students with disabilities at the university and other institutions of higher learning.
“We thank NMG for this initiative and as Mubs we are also going to take part in the struggle… we are going to have scholarships for the people living with disabilities,” Prof Balunywa said.

About the run

The run will start at 6am at Mubs main playground in Nakawa. Participation in this cause is Shs10,000.
