NRM’s NEC meeting underway, Mbabazi, Bukenya yet to be seen

The National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the NRM is about to kick off at State House, Entebbe with a no show for former Vice President Prof Gilbert Bukenya and former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi who had been invited.

NRM National Electoral Commission Chairman Dr Tanga Odoi has finished the recognition of the different groups of participants and the two names have been no mention.
Also recognized are the 317 MPs who voted in favour on the removal of Presidential age limit in December 2017.

However, some of the NRM MPs known to be "rebel MPs" for their voting against the removal of age limit have arrived at the venue.
Some of those present are: Pius Wakabi (Bugahya County) who declined to vote, Alex Ruhunda (Fort portal Municipality).
Meanwhile, Dr Odoi has emphasised that members who have already expressed interest in contesting for different positions in leagues of the party are out of order.
"The EC of the party is headed by Dr Tanga Odoi. Nobody in Uganda will issue guidelines other than Dr Tanga Odoi. Let everyone know that we are still in charge," Mr Odoi said.

Buyaga West MP Barnabas Tinkansiimire and Lwemiyaga County MP Theodore Ssekikubo have also just walked in the meeting room.
Kabarole woman MP, Ms Sylvia Rwabwogo is also in among rebel MPs has made her way into the meeting room.
