Three NRM youth leaders fired over links with Mbabazi

KABAROLE. Rwenzori NRM Youth Platform leaders have fired three members for allegedly dealing with former prime minister and the party Secretary General Amama Mbabazi.
Those who were fired include Mr Hidden Basiima who is the District Youth Council chairperson and also former vice chairperson of the Platform, Ms Stella Kemigabo,female district councilor for Kabarole and former deputy treasurer in the Platform and Ms Mutamba Olivia youth counselor for Ntoroko district who also served as chairperson of the platform in her home district.

The platform is composed of top NRM youth leaders from the seven districts and all Sub counties and Town Councils in the region.
“Dear comrades, today (April 29) we have indefinitely suspended three members from the platform for continuously being double dealers, camping in the Amama Mbabazi group under the name of Western Brigade,” Mr Patrick Kamulindwa, the chairperson of the Platform, said in a press statement.

The platform was formed last year and inaugurate by President Yoweri Museveni in January this year. One of its major aims is to promote President Museveni’s sole candidature. They mobilize for NRM and
President Museveni’s support through speaking on local radios and at public gatherings.
Mr Kamulindwa said at Gardens Restaurant in Fort Portal town that he was shocked on Wednesday to see in local press photos of the three among those who went to meet Mr Mbabazi as members of Mbabazi Western Brigade.
