Ntoroko District NRM chairman killed in game reserve

NTOROKO- Police in Ntoroko District are investigating the Tuesday killing of Ntoroko District National Resistance Movement chairman.

Vincent Mugume was hacked to death at Kandito in Tooro Semliki Game Reserve.

He was riding on a hired boda boda bike on his way to Kanara Town Council.

A one Wazaadi, the boda boda rider was also killed.

The assailants dumped the two bodies in the bush about ten meters from Karugutu-Kanara road.

Ntoroko District Police Commander, Mr David Katunda said they have detained two suspects at Fort Portal Central Police Station as investigations into the murder continue.

Mr Katunda said preliminary investigations into the killing point to land wrangles among family members.

 The Kanara Town Council chairman, Mr David Kor said Mugume was also the district councillor for Kanara town council.

He said it’s not the first travellers are attacked in Tooro Semliki Game Reserve since three months ago, a boy was killed at the same spot.

Mugume was a businessman in Kanara and Karugutu town councils.
