Husnah Kukundakwe, a Paralympic swimmer who represents Uganda internationally, was one of the best candidates in the 2019 Primary Leaving Examinations.

She scored an aggregate of 4 at Sir Apollo Kaggwa Primary School, Mengo-Kampala.

Kukundakwe who was born without a lower right arm attributes her success to God, teachers, and her parents.

Away from academics, Kukundakwe has represented Uganda at several swimming competitions, including the World Series in Singapore in May 2019 and the London 2019 World Para Swimming Allianz Championships in September last year.

In an interview with World Para Swimming last year, Kukundakwe revealed that in her early childhood days she to tried so hard not to stand out by wearing a sweater even in the heat, just so she could hide her arms.

“When I started school, I was very shy. I would wear a sweater the whole day even if it was hot, just to make sure I hide my arms. When I started swimming, people started to know me and I began to lose that shyness."
