Police are looking for parents who allegedly abandoned their two children and disappeared after failing to pay rent in Kanisa Zone in Kyanja, Nakawa Division in Kampala.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesman Patrick Onyango said the children have been taken into their care as they look for the parents.

He said one of the kids is just months old while the other is about three years.
“It is alleged that the landlord was demanding from them rent but they didn’t have the money to pay. They decided to abandon the kids in the house,” Superintendent of Police Onyango said before he added that the children were handed to a Mukono-based NGO, Heart of Children.
The police officers were called in by the neighbours who heard the children crying in the house.

Police have invited the landlord to give them details of his tenants who fled.
The police commander in Kyanja said: “The baby is crying and needs to be breastfeed.”
Police said the parents would be charged with child neglect or child desertion.
Child neglect is the 11th highest crime committed in Uganda with 7, 000 cases and around 9,000 juveniles are affected annually, according to the Police Crime reports.
