Two men arrested for trailing businessman from bank

BUGIRI- Police Wednesday arrested two men for allegedly trailing a businessman with the intention of stealing money from him.

The men allegedly trailed the businessman from Centenary Bank, Bugiri branch, where he had reportedly withdrawn Shs90 million.

Busoga East Police Spokesperson, Mr James Mubi, on Wednesday said that when the businessman arrived at the district headquarters, he realised that he was being trailed by suspicions people who were driving in a Toyota Harrier, Reg. No. UBF 127T.

Mr Mubi said that businessman swiftly drove back to the bank to seek sanctuary.

The suspects followed him to the bank where they were arrested because police and the management of the bank had been alerted.

Mr Mubi said they have detained the two suspects as investigations continue.

He, however, declined to reveal whether the suspects were armed. The vehicle in which the suspects were moving has been impounded by police.
