Police in Kampala are hunting for 12 more Makerere University students suspected to have participated in a mob justice that left a former student, David Ojok dead.
Last week, three Makerere university students including the chairman of Nkuruma Hall were charged before Buganda Road Court in connection to Ojok’s murder.

According to the police spokesperson Fred Enanga, 12 more students said to have been a mong the group that beat Ojok to death have been spotted and are yet to be arrested and arraigned before court.
He explained that all necessary evidence needed to pin the first three who include, Ivan Mutungi, Marvin Atukwase and Derrick Wagooli all residents of Nkrumah Hall has been gathered.
On April 24, Buganda Road Court Grade One Magistrate Joan Aciro read charges of murder to the three suspects. They could not plead to the charges because murder is a capital offence only tried by the High Court.
The accused were remanded to Luzira Prsion and will remain there until completion of investigations when they will be committed to the High Court for trial.

The state prosecutor, Mr Peter Mugisha, states that the trio and a group of others who are still at large, on April 12, 2015, at Nkrumah Hall at Makerere University, attacked Ojok, whom they mistook for a thief and beat him up, leaving him unconscious.
Ojok, a graduate of Computer Science, died on April 13 at Mulago National Referral Hospital where he had been admitted.
On the fateful day, Ojok had reportedly gone to Nkrumah Hall to demand his money from one of the resident students. According to some of the students close to Ojok, the debtor whom they declined to name, had on several occasions eluded the creditor (Ojok) whenever he came to demand his money.
The suspects will report back to court on May 7 for mention of their case.
