Private guard jailed for six months for stealing CCTV camera

A private security guard is to spend six months in Luzira prison in Kampala for stealing a security camera.
Thomas Elema attached to SENAKA Security, a private firm is said to have stolen a security camera from a warehouse of one of the contractors meant to install these cameras on November 29, 2018.

He was apprehended on the same day by a vigilant police officer.
“He was investigated and taken to court on December 6, 2018 (Nakawa Court). He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 6 months in prison,” said Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, Mr Luke Owoyesigyire before dismissing reports that the vandalized camera was part of the recently installed CCTV cameras to help police in fighting in urban crime.
