Police in Mpigi District are investigating the murder of a prominent milk vendor whose body was dumped in a water trench on the roadside along Kampala-Masaka highway.
The body of Godfrey Asiimwe alias Brown, 35 who has been supplying milk to residents of Jjandira Cell, Kayabwe Town and Mpigi District in general was found in a trench.

"His body was found in a pool of blood, with severe injuries in the face and on hands. We suspect he was seriously beaten up before being strangled to death and his body was dumped near Valley View Gardens," Mr Farouk Lubega, a youth councillor told this reporter.
Mr Achilles Atwebembere, Officer in charge of Kayabwe Police Station said they received information at around 6.30am on Monday that "a milkman was brutally murdered."

"We are working with residents and local leaders in our investigations. Our detectives are also interviewing some people and following leads to try and find out what led to Brown's death and who's behind this tragic incident," Mr Atwebembere said.
The body was taken to Gombe Hospital mortuary for postmortem.

Brown’s murder comes a day after a body of another man (boda-boda cyclist) was discovered on Saturday evening near the Uganda Equator, Kayabwe.
Residents said that thugs killed him and took off with his motorcycle.
