There has been a tug of war between the administration of St Benard’s Secondary School, Manya and parents of some of the eleven students who died in the Sunday night inferno that has since become a matter of national concern.

Mr Expedito Mpakani, a father to the late Maurice Basiita was escorted by some of his relatives who attacked the administration saying there was some reluctance in giving them the body of his son.

"The admiration has to ensure we get our body or else we shall sue them. They are telling us to wait for five days which is approximately a week," he said.

Mr Kafeero Vincent, who is also a parent, told Daily Monitor that there are many people at their home village in Isingiro District who are at the vigil and their family cannot feed them for a week.

"We beg the administration and other government officials to help us get the bodies of our sons very quickly so that we bury because it is becoming more costly," he said.

However, Mr Latif Zaake, the Southern regional Police commander urged the parents to calm down and wait for the DNA tests so that they get the right bodies.
