Former MUASA chairperson appointed new Makerere spokesperson

Makerere University, under authorization of the vice chancellor, Prof Barnabas Nawangwe, has appointed the former MUASA chairperson Dr Muhammad Kiggundu Musoke as the new university manager of Communication and International Relations.

According to a letter from the university’s Human Resource office dated January 18, Dr Kiggundu takes over the acting role with immediate effect.
Kiggundu is supposed to be the overall leader of all the communication related matters in the university, write news article and reports, monitoring coverage of Makerere University in media and other duties assigned to him by Prof Nawangwe.

However, the university’s Principal Public Relations Officer, Ms Ritah Namisango remains in the same position.

According to Ms Namisango, the University management has merged two units namely: Public Relations and Communications Office and the International Relations Office.
“So, they have created a new position of an Acting Manager of Communication and International Relations Dr. Muhammad Kiggundu Musoke. Ms Ritah Namisango remains Principal Public Relations Officer, her office said in a statement issued Monday.
